Commercial Floor Care for Northern and Central California

Clean floors for rooms that run on airflow

In a data center, the floor is part of the cooling system. Raised-floor tiles form the top of a pressurized plenum, perforated tiles deliver cold air to the racks, and anything resting on the floor can be lifted into the airflow. Dust, grit from shoes and residue from the wrong cleaner do not stay put in a room like that.

Solum Cleaning cleans data center floors with that in mind. We use HEPA-filtered vacuums, low-lint mops and pads and cleaning solutions the operator approves, and we work top-down with any overhead cleaning so the floor is the last surface done.

Data centers across Northern California

Data halls cluster in the South Bay around Santa Clara and San Jose, and the Sacramento region has colocation space of its own.

These sites range from multi-story colocation buildings with raised floors to newer halls built on slab with overhead cabling. The walkthrough records which floor systems each building uses before a plan is written.

Raised floors and static-control tiles

Raised-floor tiles are damp-mopped or auto-scrubbed with low-moisture methods, so no water reaches the plenum below. Perforated tiles are vacuumed to keep their openings clear. Static-dissipative and conductive tiles are cleaned only with products that preserve their electrical properties, since some finishes can insulate the surface. Our ESD and static-control floor care guide explains the reasoning.

Where the operator lifts tiles and approves the work, the subfloor is vacuumed with HEPA equipment and the tiles are wiped before they go back in place.

White space on the operator’s terms

All work inside the data hall follows the operator’s procedures: approved hours, badge and escort rules, gowning or shoe covers, approved products and limits on equipment near live racks. Our crews follow your method statement and nothing outside it.

Some operators set an ISO 14644 cleanliness class for their rooms. That class is your standard, and our methods are planned around it: low-lint materials, HEPA filtration, damp rather than wet cleaning and no aerosol sprays.

Slab floors, docks and support space

Outside the raised floor, data centers have sealed concrete or epoxy-coated floors in electrical rooms, staging areas, corridors and loading docks. These are auto-scrubbed to remove tracked-in grit, which otherwise rides carts and shoes into the white space. Our concrete floor scrubbing page describes the method.

Network operations centers, offices, break rooms and the lobby get carpet extraction, resilient floor care and entrance floor maintenance, so the front of the building looks as controlled as the data hall.

Access, escorts and a clean record

Our crew lead confirms the visit with your site contact in advance, and each technician carries identification for the security desk and stays with the assigned escort for the whole shift. Machines, pads and chemicals are listed on the entry log and checked out again at the end. Cameras stay away unless the operator asks for photos. All crew members are background-checked, and a supervisor compares the finished floors with the written plan before sign-off.

Solum Cleaning maintains insurance, including workers’ compensation, and a certificate of insurance goes to the operator’s vendor team before the first visit.

What sets the price

Price follows the area of raised floor and slab, the share of perforated and static-control tiles, any subfloor work, the gowning and escort rules and the hours the site allows. A walkthrough with your escort leads to a written plan and price.

A common rhythm is a monthly white-space visit, a lighter weekly visit for offices, the lobby and the dock, and subfloor vacuuming once or twice a year. We set the interval with your facilities team after the first visits show how quickly grit returns.

A few useful answers

Common questions

How do you clean raised-floor tiles without wetting the plenum?

We damp-mop or auto-scrub with low-moisture methods and vacuum perforated tiles, so no water reaches the space below.

Can you clean static-dissipative floor tiles?

Yes. They are cleaned only with products that keep their electrical properties intact, approved by the operator in advance.

Will your crew work under our badge and escort rules?

Yes. The crew works to your method statement, stays with its escort and uses only the products and hours you approve.

Do you clean the dock and support areas too?

Yes. Sealed concrete and epoxy floors in docks, corridors and staging areas are scrubbed, and offices and the lobby are included.
